When you help out at Habitat ReStore, you help your community. ReStore proceeds cover all of  Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex operating costs, so 100% of financial support can go directly toward building affordable homes.

Position: Salvage crew

Skills & Experience Gained
  • Remove kitchens/bathrooms cabinetry and counters from donors home
Position: ReStore cashier

Skills & Experience Gained 
  • Accurately complete sales transactions
  • Greet/assist customers while shopping in the ReStore
  • Answer phones / take messages​
Position: ReStore truck assistant

Skills & Experience Gained​
  • Travel around the city and county with the truck driver picking up donations
  • Unload the truck when back at the store
Position: ReStore donations receiver

Skills & Experience Gained
  • Assist customers dropping off donations​
  • Tag sold items and move within the store 
Position: ReStore cleaner

Skills & Experience Gained
  • Dust and polish furniture
  • Organize smaller items on the sales floor
  • Clean out kitchens when they arrive
  • Keep shelves organized and in a neat order​
Position: ReStore merchandiser/processor

Skills & Experience Gained
  • Sort, appraise and price new and used merchandise as per established pricing policy guidelines
  • Refinish slightly broken or scratched furniture and damaged household products
  • Clean and test donated goods
  • Help move furniture to the sales floor

  • Volunteers must be 15 years or older for ReStore positions. 
  • Volunteers must be 18 years or older for Build Site, Salvage Team,  & Committee positions.
