what is the furniture bank?The Furniture Bank provides an integrated furniture pick up and distribution system that offers support to people in need of furniture through partnership between service providers. The Habitat ReStore handles all donated furniture, which is either sold to fund Habitat housing programs or given to Furniture Bank clients.
In our first year, the furniture bank distributed furniture to 1068 individuals including 257 children under 12. The number one reason given for accessing the furniture bank in 2019 was “fleeing an abusive situation.” Through a partnership model we are ensuring those in need of furniture are also connected to organizations that provide supports for their well-being. Your gift of furniture combines with partner supports and is changing lives. Together we are helping those recently housed to find safety security and independence in their new homes. how can i get furniture?The furniture bank is available to people without furniture, NOT those seeking an upgrade. People in critical need of furniture can access the furniture bank only through one of these partners:

how can i help people who need furniture?One of the best ways to help Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex continue this work is by donating financially to keep our trucks on the road. The 2018 relaunch of the Windsor Furniture Back was funded through funds from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Thanks to your donations the program is now fully self-sustaining.
