📍 Location: Windsor-Essex, Ontario
💼 Wage: $35–$45/hour
📅 Term: Full-Time, Temporary (6 Months)
Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex is expanding our capacity to respond to disasters—and we’re looking for a hands-on professional to help us lead the way.
As part of our Emergency Readiness and Capacity Building (ERaCB) initiative, we’re hiring an Emergency Remediation Response Trainer to work alongside our Repair Program Leader and Coordinator on active home repair and disaster remediation projects. This is not a classroom role—it’s boots on the ground, toolbelt on, training team leads and volunteers in real time while doing essential repair work.
🔨 What You'll Do:
- Deliver hands-on training in carpentry, demolition, installation, and finishing.
- Teach and model best practices in flood, mold, and fire remediation.
- Support volunteer-led repair projects in collaboration with our internal team.
- Ensure all site safety protocols are followed—and understood.
- Contribute to building a more resilient community.
✅ What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of hands-on residential renovation or carpentry experience.
- Experience with disaster remediation (flood/mold/fire) is a strong asset.
- Passion for teaching others; previous mentorship or volunteer work is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of safety protocols and tool use.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Red Seal certification is not required, but welcomed.
